Tiger Woods PGA TOUR - it's '09 already?

While I remain stubbornly content with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2000 on my PC, I couldn't resist this sneak preview of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09, which provides a side-by-side comparison of the last three holes at Sawgrass, as shown on the '08 game and the '09 version (click on middle video).

Not sure how replacing green with olive represents progress, mind...

Hi Jeffrey

Although the 2000 version of TW Pga Tour was good, things have definately moved on LOL. I am a part owner of a website called PGAX. (http://www,pgax.net) where we operate an online tour each week that mirrors the real US PGA tour, with same weather and as close as we can get to the green speeds. We have a small design team who recreate all the courses that appear on the PGA Tour and we use these to play our tour on. We use the PC version of Tigerwoods PGA Tour 08 for this.

I also create video flyovers of these courses and you can check them out on YOUTUBE, just enter the word PGAX into the search bar and you'll get a full list of the vids I have uploaded so far.

We use digital elevation maps and a huge amount of research to recreate our courses to look as realistic asnd as accurate as possible. Over 50,000 people have downloaded our courses since we started the project early this year.

Why not get yourself the 08 game and come and join us for a round? It would be good to see what you think. It's all free too, we don't charge nor seek donations for the running of our site, our courses or our downloads function. We also operate a free Teamspeak server, so that we play paired up online and as our tour coincides with the real events, we even get to play alongside the real Pro's on TV!!

Great blog by the way and hope to see you soon.

Cheers

Thanks for posting, Alan. I'm sure the '08 game is streets ahead of what I've got but it's just too powerful for my creaking old laptop and I can't face the prospect of downloading another 200 courses like I have for the '00 and '03! versions! Not just yet, anyway.

I like your website, though.
